Special Projects

You know there are just so many things a company does in its career I just had to boast a little.  Here's a selection of special projects I've been involved with over time. In some instances I was just the manufacturer, and others projects I was there from blank page to installation and removal.
In 1990 the Winfield Cup as it was known then, contacted Southern Cross to make a  H U G E  Australian flag for their Football Grand final Event.  It took the staff near 3 weeks to make the flag in pieces.  Then,  with the assistance of the RAAF at Richmond Air Base, I borrowed a hanger, transported the sewing machines and organised the completion of the sewing.  It is still the largest Australian flag ever made at 100 x 50 metres, and it covered the oval....take a look.........Well you could have if you tube didn't lose the video I uploaded (:-(  I'll have to search through 100 terrabytes of data to find it again...........

We researched and developed a way to combine screen and digital printing, together with appliqued methods of production to manufacture these unique designs. This became one of the premier jobs for Southern Cross Flags who supplied the 1st Australian Digital large format artwork for public display.

The Wallabies giant 20 metre flag in 2009, which was made in Sydney (Windsor) and supplied to our customer. They inturn mounted it onto helium inflatables. The funny here was that the ground staff all wore sandshoes for grip on the oval. The senior management wanted some limelight and took charge of holding the inflatable...in their dress shoes. They were last seen oval surfing, as the inflatable dragged them 20 metres North ?? I love Rugby too.
