What is Digital Printing - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_printing

Friendly Awareness Warning
Digital CMYK Printing isn't perfect & may not produce exact PMS colours. Refer to Pantone Process Colour Imaging Guide, solid to process, as the quality desired & printed article may vary up to 5%. Colours will appear different in hue & contrast on fabrics than on paper or other substrates. If colour matching is critical, colours should be selected from a PMS range printed on the selected fabric. Prints can be produced; single & double sided mirror reverse, & double-sided right reading.

Large format Digital Printing Artwork
Artwork for Large format printing is just like any other printing process, but the finished size is understandably huge. BEFORE spending time generating your artwork, please decide on the finished product and what it will look like. Pre print files are often referred to as “ripped” files and can easily reach sizes in excess of a Gigabyte. Sometimes the normal rules do not apply.  Common rules... Images need to be scanned at a resolution equal to 75-100dpi at the actual size it will be when printed ie an image that is to be enlarged to 1x1m should be scanned at a document size of 100x100cm at a resolution of 100dpi. You may choose to proportion your artwork to say, quarter size. You would therefore scan at a document size of 25x25cm with a resolution of 400dpi... both will give you a scan of approx. 45-59Mb. The scans should be saved as .tif or .eps format with all alpha channels & unwanted paths deleted. If your text has not been converted to outlines, you will need to supply both screen & printer fonts.   Always supply a colour print out, marked up with the scale, output size, quantity required and Pantone colours that need to be matched. Tip: If you create a Press ready PDF of your file it will act as a test to the print-worthiness. If you cant make, or get unexpected results in your PDF, then we’ll experience the same when trying to print.
