BSS - B a n n e r  S u p p o r t  S y s t e m

Most people are quite content with flags flying using FREE power ......the wind.
Every location has its own wind variables and it may blow hard or gently depending on the day, the time and surrounding landscape.

In one location in Sydney for example, due to surrounding buildings, the flags encounter vertical wind and they fly right up and over the top of the flagpoles !

The problem for some locations and sponsors is that the wind does the opposite, hardly blows at all.  In this type of location I recomend the BSS to enhance the flags | banners flying time.

In 1985 I co-designed a BSS system for Southern Cross Flags who in conjunction with Goldspar (Australia's leading flagpole supplier), developed the flexible fiberglass rod that could be inserted into the fabric banner. The mathematical
science of where to sew the pockets to house the rods was a bit of a challenge. Now many locations across Australia fly the system because it works by holding the flag or banner more upright to fly more often, even in zero wind.  Sponsors love it because their logo is now seen more often - an indisputable fact.
